Affected by the pandemic and struggling to meet monthly rental payments? Your family may qualify for rental assistance. Congress recently approved $25 billion in rental assistance that will be disbursed among all states. Local officials will then disburse those funds to counties and cities who have rental assistance programs in place. From there either the renter (you) or the landlord can apply for the funds.
The program is called The Emergency Rental Assistance Program and if you or your landlord is approved it could pay up to 12 months of past due rental payments.
Last year many families were concerned with how they would make up the past due payments. They had been approved to postpone six months of rent when jobs were lost; however, all past due rent payments would become due all at once in January. Now, with this rental assistance program many of those families may get to stay in their homes. Are you eligible?
ELIGIBILITY and HOW TO APPLY
